Hong Kong-based Diamond Services Ltd and Thailand’s Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences (AIGS) recently signed an agreement that allows AIGS services to be accessed directly from Hong Kong.
In a press release, Diamond Services said AIGS’s full range of coloured gemstone laboratory reports and services will be made available to Hong Kong clients through a drop-off window at Diamond Services’ headquarters in Central.
Gemstone traders can submit loose gemstones and gem-set jewellery pieces to AIGS for testing, analysis and grading. Turnabout time for submitted samples will be five to seven business days, Diamond Service added.
“There are few coloured gemstone organisations with AIGS’ wealth of knowledge, experience and integrity and we are privileged to be able to extend that to Hong Kong, China and beyond,” said Joseph Kuzi, founder and managing director of Diamond Services.
Kennedy Ho, CEO of AIGS, cited the importance of high-quality gemmological services to the international coloured gemstone industry.
“Hong Kong serves as a primary gateway into the world’s fastest growing market for coloured gemstones and the provision of quality gemmological services is absolutely critical to its development,” Kennedy Ho, CEO of AIGS, said.
